I'm a newbie to the Inspire 4G from a Blackberry Torch and I was wondering if anyone could give me some general pointers on the device. So far, I really like it. The only two problems I see so far is battery life and my email is really slow getting to my device compared to my Blackberry. When I use to get email, I would get it almost instantly on my Blackberry. Now, there is quite a bit of delay before it drops to my Inspire.

Other than that, if people could drop me some general pointers, I would appreciate it.

Thanks,
Nick

Which email r u using? (Yahoo, gmail, etc)

Which app r u using to get that email?

And about the battery.. While there r some tweak u can do to conserve battery..I'm gonna go ahead n tell ya your battery life on this phone will always suck lol

Def do one of the tutorials avail online for the phone for a "tour." The one on att.com is where I direct my customers

When using gmail I use my gmail app. Quite fast. As for battery power first thing is remove the large weather clock from the main screen. Second manually don your brightness. Then turn off some of the auto sync features. The only one I have running is for my gmail.

I actually have 4 different emails coming to my phone; att.net, gmail, my work email and a hotmail. I have them set up and they are all dropping into the "Mail" icon on my main screen. As for the battery, I think I might look into a little bit bigger battery. I will modify some of the sync settings on the phone and see what happens with that.

well for emails you could go into settings when you open your email and go into send and receive and change some time about the peek and off peek and how often you want to change the refresh for those times you chose.

As of battery life when I just had simple root I had juice defender beta, that app is free in the market place I notice a difference after i did a full charge and it work wonders.

I downloaded the battery app. So far, it seems to be working. Now, If I can just get my email to my phone quicker, I would be happy!!

I know what you mean by the email not as responsive also when you are in the email settings I think its in send and receive you want to check Saturday and Sundays

I use AT&T email on my Inspire. I finally figured out that I have to check at least daily to ascertain that the email settings are as I set them (all email every 15 minutes) because the settings often change back to default (3 days' email every hour) without my realizing it.

thats something I miss about the iphone is the email being some responsive.. but still liking the phone I still have not add much in terms of apps I dont even have my first page filled yet lol..
