News article release today compares Bionic to Iphone 5

Please do not ever read anything from International Business Times and give it any credibility. They have reprinted this same story 572 different ways over the past month just to get the words "Droid Bionic" into their headline and get hits to their website. They know nothing about the phone I can promise you that.

Seconded. They print a new one everyday. They do it for every big phone, etc. IBT is worthless.

On a somewhat related note, I got an iPad 2 from work. I didn't really have a lot of iOS experience as I decided to go android based on what I read before making my first smartphone purchase last year.

I have to say, now that I've had a few weeks to play around with it, I'm not as impressed with iOS as I thought I would be. The screen/app transitions are smoother than on my DInc, and the apps are a little more polished, and device overall seems more polished, but there really isn't much difference between the App Store/Android Market aside from a few games, which surprised me.

I find myself really missing widgets, file system control, and some of the apps that I use day to day like Tasker. I did some research on jailbreaking, and it makes up for some of the lacking features, but color me unimpressed.

iOS offers a very stable consistent platform which runs good apps. If you're someone who likes that (lots do) then it is a great OS (despite what some may tell you). If you like more customization (I do!) then you're better off going with Android.

Indeed. And that's why I went with Android in the first place when I bought my DInc last April. I just didn't realize how much it would piss me off in practice until I saw it first hand.

Hey can't blame a girl for trying! :D Just want some more information on a phone that's supposedly coming out in a few weeks. With the way Verizon touted the Thunderbolt you would think they would be marketing this phone like crazy, especially if it's as good as rumor has it out to be.

And we do appreciate the effort, even though it wasn't new news. There are a few sites out there that pull crap like this.

Headlines News, Product Reviews, Gotta Be Mobile, and Online Social Media are all sites that do this as well. Best bet is to keep an eye on Droid-Life. They are usually really good about verifying information before it's posted.
