News Feed updating issues

Hey Droids,

I have my news feeds set to update every 6 hours, and most of them, haven't updated since the 6th of this month. That doesn't make sense for feeds such as the LA Times, Fox News or ESPN Sports. Is there anyone else having this issue, and why am I unable to delete or unsubscribe to any of them? Really, the only one that seems to be updating itself, is the weekly Netflix feed.

I have checked my Accounts & sync, and have hit refresh numerous times, with no luck.

Any suggestions?

Same problem here. I constantly get a screen that requires me to refresh the news feeds. I decided to unsubsubscribe and it tells me it cannot unsubscribe. I wonder if it has to do with my cityID expiring since that happened around the same day?

Same problem here. No ideas or solutions, but figured you guys would like to know you aren't alone...

Quite frustrating, hope somebody can help.

Yep, I have same issue. Strangely enough, my Google Reader folders show up in the News app, along with random numbers of unread feeds... but they never update or change. I can go in and read those feeds, but they are frozen in time.

I recently had to do a factory reset and the problem still remains. I downloaded the Google Reader app and use that... but seems like the News app is a wasted app. Can't do a "mark all as read" anyway.

I called Verizon and after 45 minutes I got a solution as follows:
+turn off syncing of "news" in settings, sync

+ go to settings,applications
+ manage applications, all apps
+ go to "News"
+"clear data"
+"Force stop"
+ go to Applications and restart News
+ now I was able to unsubscribe

Had the same issue. News feeds were either not updating, or at least a day old, and when I would try to 'refresh' it would take forever. I tried the fix above, and it did clear everything but then when I went to restart News, it asked for my gmail PW, which I couldnt remember, since I dont use that email :-[ so I just removed the app from my home screen and wrote it off for now. Not really worth the hassle, but glad it worked for others !

Thanks for fix!

Applied suggested fix and now have updated news. Its the second time this has happened and for some reason always seems to stop updating on a Friday.

I didnt unsubscribe but got latest news. Will see if it locks again next Friday.

Use the app a lot so its a major problem for me.
