So the Note 3 was my first foray into the world of Android, and I like it (Android that is). Previous iPhone user.
However, I really don't use any of the Samsung apps, the only thing I use the spen for is screen shots and I really would prefer a phone I can use in one hand.
I refuse to go back to Apple on principle, so I'm kind of shopping around for ideas on either another Android phone or contemplating trying a Windows phone. I don't need a new phone for a while, this Note 3 is fine, but I want to start looking and the new larger Moto X caught my attention. It's only 5.2" so I'm thinking that's one handed capable.
What are your guys thoughts of a next phone? Is the new Moto X a contender?

The new Moto X sounds terrific. Since you're not interested in lots of preinstalled bells and whistles, you should also wait to see what the Nexus 6 will be like, since Nexus devices are the closest to pure Android that you can get. Not sure what the dimensions will be like, but maybe they'll be able to make it not much bigger than the Nexus 5, depending on what they do with the bezels.

Yeah I'm thinking Nexus sounds good in theory, but I don't want to pay $400-$500. I'd be buying it on contract with AT&T, which I don't think you can do with Nexus devices.

I probably will stick with sammi for a while.

If I am forced to choose outside sammi, the choice would be between 2014 Moto X and LG G3.

LG has a replaceable battery, and has a great battery life. While Moto X has a SuperAMOLED screen.

I am weary of the domination of google in tracking every human plus their dogs on this planet, so I try to have a barrier between google and me. If this somehow concerns you, Sammi is a pretty good choice. Moto is pretty bad in this regard, since its a Google-owned company to start with.

"Pure android", no offense, is a fantasy term that doesn't really exist. Pure android, theoretically refers to pure AOSP, which is abysmal in its functions. Most people equals "pure android" with "pure google" nowadays, even though pure google include much more closed sources secret stuff.

To me, there is no difference between google bloatware, ATT bloatware, LG bloatware, and sammi bloatware, so I would not put too much stock on "pure google" thingy.

When I say "closest to pure Android," I am referring to the lack of 3rd party bloatware or additional manufacturer skin.

Please excuse any typos or autocorrect derps.

I like the idea of "pure android", but with some helpful pieces from the oem to fill in the gaps, which I'd why I'm really curious about the new Moto X.

I also loved the idea of last year's Moto X, but the actual phone itself felt really cheap. Like cheap materials and bargain bin parts.
