Next to the Hoover Dam?

The droidlanding account is saying one of the free DroidX's is in NV.
"Witnesses call it the greatest source of power next to the Hoover Dam."

Figures it'd be in southern NV... if you're in Las Vegas might be worth a drive.

Quick google search shows there's a Verizon store in a town right near the dam. Would be worth a call if you're in the area.

droidlanding just posted an hour ago - "Droid X designate #1 sees blinking lights, levers pulled. It should blend right in." looks like it's narrowed to Las Vegas

That just means it's near slot machines. We have slot machines everywhere in Nevada. I'm talking about gas stations and grocery stores. In the middle of nowhere. Even here in nothern Nevada. I agree, it's likely in Las Vegas, but it could be anywhere still. Besides, saying it's in a casino doesn't mean anything anyways. There are literally hundreds of acres of casino floorspace in Las Vegas alone, not including Reno.

And it'd be pretty hilarious if it was just sitting at a bar at a casino.

apologies, as an east coaster who's never been... didn't realize that. I'm just anxious (as we all are i'm sure)

This whole "scavenger hunt" seems fishy. I mean how much more broad can one get?

I assume it's just a marketing guide for the official launching on July 15th.

I just don't understand, if "The missing Droid X phones aren’t going anywhere else. Unless someone finds them before you." is accurate, wouldn't SOMEBODY have randomly just found one of these phones that doesn't even care about it? Especially if it's in a highly (well, not anymore I guess) trafficked area like a casino floor?

It'd also be pretty funny if they had the phones in a "kiosk" type advertising center, sitting behind plastic that look like it's designed to keep you out, but can be easily moved. Just some "information center" where you can fill out a contact card for more information with a supposed "demo" phone just sitting there. I guess only thieves would "win" phones then since most people wouldn't try to steal a demo phone.

Somebody over at howardforums claimed it may be in the "Sahara" since one of the clues is that it's in the desert, although technically that could describe all of vegas. Still might be worth looking around if you're in the area.

At the rate they're giving us clues, I doubt we'll be able to find anything until launch day anyway.

Ok, quick geography lesson. Nevada is a BIG state. It is not referred to as Las Vegas, as many people live outside of Las Vegas. Nevada is the driest state in the US and one of the driest places in north America. It also includes Reno, Eastern Lake Lake Tahoe Basin, Carson City, Henderson, Elko, Paradise, North Las Vegas, and on and on. The principal industries are gaming, mining and agriculture. We are the 4th largest gold producer in the world. We don't care how it was done where you came from... lol

It is likely in the Luxor on the south end of the strip as the light on top could loosely be considered the largest source of power next to the Hoover Dam. For those that have never been out there, there is nothing out there besides the Dam. They COULD be referring to Lake Mead behind the Dam as the source of the 1000Mw the dam produces... but that is a stretch and most people will not make that connection.

My money is at the Luxor, plus they have done promos for Motorola in the past. One of the Southies should get to the Luxor and start looking.

All of these tweets have been too vague. Let's hope they get more specific sometime before launch.

I live in Las Vegas and actually made the drive to the closest Verizon store to the hoover dam to try to find the bastard. He said this has nothing to do with Verizon and that some of his friends were saying this **** could be in one of those pods in the middle of nowhere (like the commercial). This was before the "lever" clue however. I am thinking about driving to the luxor tonight to snoop around before I play cards. Wish I had more specific clues.

If this really is in Vegas, is it worth it to drive 4 hours from SLC to get one? I think it might be.

just looked around in the luxor. The bottom line is that a more specific clue has to be given. They are trying to make this scavenger hunt specific...it seems to me that if they just toss it somewhere in the open any Tom **** or Harry could find the thing and have no idea what was going on. I was looking on top of slot machines, behind things, under things, etc. It is going to be somewhere VERY specific IMO and they are definitely milking these clues for time. It seems to me whoever finds one will only have it for a very short amount of time before it's available to the public anyways. Either way I'm getting one....but this scavenger hunt thing is sort of exciting.

The clues are pointless. At the rate that they are going we will not find them any time soon. Possibly after release date. We do not know where they are or what they are even in. Hopefully a tweet will let us know what they are stored in at least...

The only "sources of power" anywhere near Hoover or Vegas are in secure facilities. It HAS to be on the strip.

I love riddles. I just wish they did this up north too.
