Nexus 10 4.4 reportedly without ART?

So, this is my first thread and this seems to be half on topic and half off but according to @alexdobie the Nexus 10 while being updated to 4.4 doesn't have ART.
What are your thoughts on this development? Might ART be constrained by hardware? Was 4.4 not entirely ready? This seems doubtful given the delay on the Nexus 4 but might Google have pushed the OTA early to avoid being beat by HTC with the Google Play edition update? I do seem to remember that someone who got the OTA on their 2013 Nexus 7 said they enabled ART but I currently have no verification for this.

The option is there on the Nexus 7.Art is enabled on my Nexus 7.

The option for ART is on the official release for my Nexus 7. Maybe it's not compatible with the Exynos chip in the Nexus 10.

It's also important to remember that ART is an experimental *developer* tool at this point. Not finished product.

As Phil says, it's there for dev tinkering only. It hasn't replaced Dalvik yet. No harm, no foul.

It's only compatible with Qualcomm cpus for now.
