Nexus 10 issues.

Hello All.

first off, i have been an IOS user for quite some time, and being the only member of the house who had an IOS device for quite some time i got alot of grief from my brothers saying that Android is superior to IOS ect.... now i flat out ignored them, i got on with my iPhones very easily, they are a doddle to navigate and backup etc....

now a month or so ago i was in the market for a tablet, i looked up the iPad firstly but of course it is awfully expensive for what it is and i couldnt justify paying that much for an iPad when there are other devices out there with more features and are a little more adaptable, so after much research and deliberation i decided to get a Google Nexus 10, this is my first Android Device, and straight away i found it very difficult to adapt from the IOS method of thinking, i still use an iPhone 4s, i managed to get a hang of the device in the days following, and things were looking up, but ive had several frustrating issues with this thing.

it wouldnt switch off at one point
it wouldnt charge the following day
it froze and crashed quite often
TVersity player is impossible to use with this thing
it will not connect to my computer as of late even though it did connect fine when i first had the device
i have an emulator app that crashes

these are but a few things that are starting to frustrate me with this thing. the main problem i have is the fact it does not want to connect to me Computer, i have the latest USB drivers, ive googled this issue countless times and nothing has fixed the issue, google play's support is uselss and i have no idea what i can do, i got this thinking it is easier to use and not as restrictive as an iPad but i have found this more trouble than its worth lately.

can anyone help me?

Yea update it to 4.2.2 that should fix almost all of your problems most of the time with apps and problems it's app specific so just try a different app but 4.2.2 should fix the other issues.

And android is far superior to IOS in every way and the phones are as well if you want the customization options then with that comes knowledge android is pretty much unrestricted whereas IOS is restricted in almost every way possible.

I'd hard say Android is "far superior to iOS in every way". Maybe every way for you. Just the lack of optimized tablet apps vs iOS is one way its not superior...

In many opinions thats the only way its not superior besides every app ive tried on my nexus 10 seems to work just fine.

Android doesn't really need them though. The way it's designed, apps work exactly the same on tablets as it does on phones.

Apps working exactly the same on tablets as they do on phones is precisely the problem though. THAT IS why Android needs more tablet optimized apps.

Look how terrible the Facebook and twitter app look on Android tablets. Its just the phone app stretched out across the screen. Pictures on my N10 in FB literally engulf the ENTIRE screen! I usually just use a browser because the app looks so terrible but even then that is very slow in comparison to an app, plus there are certain things you cant do well in a browser like cropping pics on an android tab.

Dropbox is another example. While I much prefer it on Android because of functionality it looks like crap! Tons of wastes space...why use a tablet if I'm only getting the info that a phone can give me? On iOS it looks like Drive does on Android....

Compare non optimized Android apps to optimized Android apps. Like beyondpod, its sooooo much better using the tablet version on a tablet then the phone version.

Tapatalk HD for Android tablets is MUCH better then the way it used to be with the phone version..

I'm not disagreeing a lot of apps look good. They can be stretched out and still look fine. I'm talking the apps that were designed for the constrains of a small screen and then are put on a big screen.

Dev's recognize apps optimized for the tablet base are better then phone apps on those devices. Google released the Nexus 7 at budget prices to get them out there and entice devs to start developing tablet apps. I think denying Android needs to catch up in this department is doing Android an injustice. No sense of ignoring a glaring issue.

Huhh strange Facebook and Twitter both look awesome on my N10 and on my fiance's ideatab, doesnt look blown up at all looks just as good as it does on my note 2

I think the FB app is fine in portrait, it is when held in landscape mode that it suffers. I honestly believe the FB app is DESIGNED to be used in portrait and the landscape mode is hardly an afterthought.

the biggest problem I have with the FB app is that pictures are enlarged for the feed, but if you click on them thir resolution is reduced and there is no way to zoom.

All I will say is, they work perfectly on phones so working the exact same on tablets isn't a problem at all. There's no real reason to spend so much time on tablet-optimized IMO. But I guess people always need something to complain about.

I notice that my nexus 10 is getting sluggish and that it crahashes when I surf using the dolphin =( i hope it gets better
