All of a sudden I cant get my nexus 10 to turn on. I have been searching around the internet for solutions but none work. If I hold down the power button, nothing happens. I have tried this for 120 seconds straight. Then, I tried doing it with the power button and both volume buttons for 120 seconds straight. (that one really hurts your fingers :P). Next I plugged it in. Nothing happens initially, however if I hold down the power button while its plugged in, a little white battery icon with the charging bolt in the middle pops up for a few seconds. Then it goes back to all black for about 6-10 seconds before it shows up again. This cycle keeps happening for as long as I hold down the power button( I have done it for up to 120 seconds). Same thing happens if I hold both the power button, and both volume buttons. Same thing happens whether plugged into the wall or the computer. Same thing happens no matter what cord I used.

Maybe your battery is totally discharged. With the battery totally discharged the Nexus 10 will shut itself off. Leave it on the charger for 15 minutes to put some charge on the battery and then see if it will turn on.

I also seem to recall some people have tried swapping out the USB cable for another and met with success.

Alternately try botting ionto safe mode [http://mostly-tech.com/2012/11/28/m...-for-the-nexus-10-and-other-android-devices/]
Boot into Safe-mode to troubleshoot problems ? If you are experiencing a problem with your Nexus 10 and you want to determine whether they are being caused by a third-party app, press the power button for seven seconds until your tablet reboots. Then press and hold both the volume up and down keys until you see the words ?Safe mode? appear in the lower left-hand corner of the screen. If the problem goes away when you?re in safe mode, you should reboot your tablet and start removing recently installed apps until the problem goes away. Source: How-To Geek

I've had almost the exact same Nexus 10 issue. Almost... except that it has happened while the charger was plugged in and I was actively using it. It suddenly powered off, and now I only get the white battery icon as the OP describes. I've even tried just leaving it powered off, on the charger, and not touching it at all for 3 days and nothing changes. It does not matter if I use the AC charger, or charge via a powered USB port.

It is not possible to boot into safe mode when this happens. (Google support calls it "factory reset" when I have called them.)

This is now the second Nexus 10 that has had the exact same problem -- it's a replacement of my original, and now I'll be getting a replacement of the replacement. Very strange. I often get the low battery warning (at around 15% or so, I think) and then plug in the charger to keep using it. I use my Nexus 10 daily so there's been no change in my usage habits, for either device.

Original unit lasted a little over a month, and this replacement lasted about two months.

Fortunately, I can temporarily switch back to my Xoom tablet so it's not THAT big of a deal for me. I lose everything in the Nexus 10 storage, but the contents are not that critical.

Usually with these types of problems your replacing the wrong part. It could be the usb cable, have you used different cables. It could be the wall wart power adapter, have you tried swapping them. Finally it could be faulty house wiring, try using a different power outlet or a different house. By swapping parts you should be able to isolate it to the failng part.

I have had the same problem. I was on Utube watching a film. Then my touch screen stopped working. I tried using the on off button to turn it off then back on. This nor the volume buttons worked. I couldnt turn the nexus off. It eventually went dead. I put it on charge.
This when i had the same problem. if i tried to turn it on it flashed the charge icon for a few seconds then blank. It wont turn on again.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I that this problem this morning. The problem went away when I switched from an Amazon basics USB cable to a nexus 4 wireless charger cable.

once my tablet had booted, I noticed the charge did not take. It was completely drained. It must have been the cable.

Tried multiple usb cables, multiple chargers and still get the battery flash and then nothing after holding the power button. Also tried plugging into my computer usb and no change.

Anyone have any ideas to fix this?

Exactly the same problem after a battery drain - I have exactly the same symptoms as the first post. Have tried all the button combinations to no avail. This is my second 10 as the first froze up and the screen would flash on a completely random basis when turned off. Nothing wrong with the charger as the battery is indicating full and I use the charger for my phone and mouse with no issues at all. Sadly I have not been able to get mine to work so here goes another RMA - third time lucky maybe?

Quite mind boggling when Google is trying to take on Apple and their flagship tablet is so staggeringly unreliable and unstable, internet is full of forums where users are having problems with them - amazing!

Might be that Happy user's don't post as often becuase they have nothing to complain about. Also you may note most people who do have problems rarely return to report if their problem has been solved or not. I dont put too much stock in the posters who apper just to complain and are all but never heard from again. there is no way to determine if they have a real problem, are trolling, or are unwilling to put the time in researching and trouble shooting to determine if the culprit is an app, using a charger that didn't ship with the device or the myrid of other potential solutions.
