my calendar is terribly clunky. it can take forever to enter dates and times accurately. is this a known issue or is my phone faulty?

You'll need to elaborate a bit more about the problem.

It sounds like you are complaining about the user interface for adding events? That would be the same across the board and not specific to your phone.

I personally don't find it too bad but I don't use my phone to add events to the calendar very often. I use the Calendar app in the browser for that and just use the one on the phone for viewing my events and reminders.

You should try out some of the free calendars in the Google Play store. They all tie into your gmail calendar and you may find one that is more user friendly than another.

Hi all,I rooted my nexus 4 a few weeks ago using the method in the sticky.I didn't change the rom though,its running stock. My issue is that when I set a calender reminder,once the notification pops up,the only option I get is to dismiss it. There is no option to snooze the reminder. It's the stock calendar so I don't know why this is happening.
Anyone experience this or have any ideas? Thanks.

I just bought a Nexus 4 and I have calendar errors galore. I keep everything in Google Calendars and had a prev android device so I thought this would be a snap. Instead the auto system date was wrong, so I unchecked automatically set and corrected the date manually. However Google Cal events(which are all correct in Google) sync 12 hours earlier at times, or a day earlier than the Google calendar has them.

It's pretty frustrating to have afternoon appointments popping up in the middle of the night, or to be notified a day prev, rather than at the time of the appointment.:-[
