Nexus 4 "cutting off" part of the screen

Good morning everyone,
I just got a nexus 4 (and it's awesome!!!), but there is a small problem. Whenever I open the youtube app, the Play Music app, and the Gmail app (among a few others) it cuts off part of the app. What I mean is that on the left side of the screen, it seems that about a 1/4 of a centimeter is missing. The three lines for the menu are cut off half way, and are running off of the screen. Does anyone else have this problem, or possibly a fix? Thanks!

Can you post a screenshot? Is it a uniform line cutting off all of the top or just a little bit of the left side?

That looks about right to me and is normal. Mine is the same and I assume it is done on purpose as a graphical representation of the fact that it leads back to another screen off to the left.
