Hello,

I got my new Google Nexus 4 today and it does not turn on for the first time.

After pressing the power button, the system does not boot.

I?m immediately getting message ?Power off ? Shutting down? and it?s shutting down in a couple of seconds.

Tried:

- Rebooting the system by pressing simultaneously volume down + power buttons

- Reset to factory settings

Also, battery has been charged for almost 10 hours, but without any success. It?s still at ~50%.

Would like to know is this a hardware failure or software issue.

Thanks.

If your phone doesn't turn on, how do you know the battery is at 50% or less

While it's shutting down, you can see for a couple seconds battery status and keyboard for unlocking sim in the background.

Hold the power button until you feel a vibrate and then dont touch anything.. see what happens

You could try holding down the power button for a minimum of 30 seconds while unplugged, then plug it in, then hold the power button for a few seconds (until it vibrates), then release the power button and see what happens.

Neither option worked. It keeps shutting down.

I'll just return the device - this is probably something hardware-related.
