Hi everyone,

I was a long time iPhone user, switched a few months back and love my Nexus 4, only issue is after I set an alarm in my phone to wake me up or whatever, once the alarm goes off and I shut it off on my home screen underneath the Time and Date it still shows" alarm 7:00am" it only goes away if I delete the clock from my desktop and drag it back in. Any reason why this is happening? Should I just download a different home screen clock or what? Thanks everyone.

Same thing used to happen to me.. I think it happens if you set a recurring alarm.

Exactly as rizy said. If the alarm is on recurring schedule it will appear like that. Its there to let you know it is set. It should say the next day it is set to go off as well.

If you got to your alarm setting. You will see underneath the time the days of the week it set to go off. If you tap the little down arrow underneath the on/off switch it will open up to show the days of the week. Uncheck repeat if you only need the alarm once, or select the days of the week you want it to go off.

Yeah that is odd. If both alarms are off it shouldn't say anything like that. I just tried on mine and if a alarm was set it would say the time, turn it off and it would go blank. Have no clue what would cause that for you.

None of these alarms are set to repeat thats the thing that is not making any sense.
I really dont unserstand what you are trying to say about the clock. can you post a screenshot?

if the entry is on notification you can expand the notification and dismiss. if you are talking about the icon in the top right bar then its saying their is an active alarm set.

After an alarm goes off, the clock should show the next date and time for the next alarm. Instead, it shows the time and date for the alarm that has already passed.

It stays in the alarms, if its a one off but it turns "off" it won't magically delete itself from the list. You have to swipe it out the list yourself but it shouldn't alarm a second time unless you turn it on again.

You mean the Homescreen Widget, correct?

In my attempt to reproduce your issue, I was able to at first for about 10 attempts but then all of a sudden couldn't (so frustrating, LoL)...only thing I could think of is it seems the Widget isn't refreshing itself for whatever reason. Try resizing it to a different size then resize it back.

Hope that helps.

I had the same issue and the resizing method sorted it for me.

Very strange. I finally got it to do this too.. also can confirm re-sizing corrects it.

Is there a better widget for a digital clock on the home screen that I should download?

I don't like the stock Analog clock face. It takes up way too much real estate.

Try DIGI Clock for a nicely customizable widget in the digital style. Many options let you set the look you want. and update it as you change your desktop. If you like the free version well enough, then pay for DIGI Clock Plus as the free one has ads which (once in awhile) lock up the clock until you throw it away and drag it back to desktop from the widget drawer...
