Nexus 4 issue (back button not working, default numeric keyboard)

1) Since 4.3 update I noticed issues with back button. In facebook, after watching images I can't back out from that. The only way to get back to facebook feed (get rid of image) is to kill application through task list and then restart facebook again. Initialy I though it is facebook app's fault, but I started noticing the same problem with GMail app. I would open message and wouldn't be able to go back after I am done reading it. Sometime would work, sometime wouldn't. Anybody have idea what is wrong?

2) Sometime, when I open somebody's text message in default messaging app (in google voice app too) and I wan't to reply, numeric keyboard shows up and I can't type anything. Can't back out, can't do nothing except press home buttone and kill app and restart it... sometime I have to do it several time in row until it finally starts working. Very frustrating. Any Ideas what's happening?

This is my second Nexus 4 phone. First one I returned to Google because of connectivity issues and I am thinking to return this piece of cr.p too, and to keep doing it untili somebody make things right.
Replacement phone didn't fix data issues, 4.3 did.

The whole Nexus line is tarninshed forever in my eyes. I don't think I will ever by another one. These phones should be the best on the android market...

Have you tried navigating between apps using the button to the right of the home button? By pressing this it will show all your open apps so to navigate all you need to do is swipe between them.

You can't. When you are looking at Facebook photo you are already in Facebook app. Going to task bar and picking Facebook will just bring forward Facebook and photo I was looking at. When photo is wieved, all Facebook navigation controls are hidden, and then without back button you can't get rid of the image.

I am stuck at a facebook picture and cannot move back or home screen. The physical on / off button is working but it takes me to the stuck screen. This is after updating OS to 4.3. Is there any way that I can make the phone function or do I have to wait till battery drains?

I noticed, when you are looking at photo in Facebook, if you tap on image, menu on the botom should show up. If you click on "..." button (usually setup button in apps), you may get option View Albums (or Albums, if image is part of album), pick that, you will open whole album and them your back button might start working. In my case it is 50/50. Sometime back button works, sometime facebook crashes.

I also get numeric keyboard many times when I want to reply to somebody's message (in any messaging app - not just facebook).

I hope you are referring to the Facebook app and not the N4, because the problem is almost certainly on the app side.

As for, "I also get numeric keyboard many times when I want to reply to somebody's message (in any messaging app - not just facebook)." I can only say that this never happens to me, neither in the native messaging app nor in WhatsApp.

I don't think its an app side issue with the back button. Since I updated to 4.3 I have the same back button issue. Happens here and there but when it does its horrible. I have to close the apps. Happens during web browsing, looking at photos, even while in any of my financial apps. Very annoying.

Most likely it is app side. One known app that has been causing back button issues is Chrome beta. I'm sure there could be others. Since the back button is a softkey, the issue is software related, so a simple hard reset could fix it if it is system related. I'm thinking most likely an installed app.

What if a hard reset doesn't fix it. Couldn't it be a glitch in the os? Something tiny that doesn't make a huge problem but happens in occasion. Just saying.

I have tried to uninstall the apps that get affected but the issue still happens on occasion. Not a huge deal to say screw the n4 all together.

Even I got a similar problem after upgrading to 4.3 just one day I purchased my nexus 4. After upgrade back button stopped working for fb and gmail. I cleared out d cache for both f these apps and it seems to be working on for now. Definitely it seems an app issue as the same key worked for all d other apps excepts these two. Also the heating up of the nexus 4 is also an issue. Without any prolonged usage f the phone it starts heating up which seems a hardware issue to me . hopefully both these issues will get fixed in future releases.
