We can forget this post. Watched a video on YouTube from android central and they say you can't send pics and videos to a Samsung phone because SBeam uses WiFi direct to transfer files instead of Bluetooth.

Mine works fine with a Droid DNA and a Razr M. Both on 4.1.

Probably because its different hardware..? Anyone know for sure? Does Android beam only work with two of the same device(N4 to N4, etc)?

I beam stuff all the time between my Nexus 4 and Nexus 7. Never had a problem so it has nothing to do with them having to be the exact same type of device. Very strange...

Caution NFC may not function properly with the use of a 3rd party battery. To ensure functionality, only utilize the Samsung designed battery with Near Field Communication printed on the battery label.

I have a Galaxy S3 and my mom and aunt both have HTC one X. A few days ago both me and my aunt were able to beam pics back and forth. I just tried to beama pic from my mom's phone to mine and I'm getting the same error. I don't understand because their phones are identical and I was able to receive a beam from my aunt.

I know this is an old post...
BUT...

I have been going back and forth with settings on a Galaxy S3 and an LG Optimus F6 for two days now.

Configuration that finally worked for me is having NFC turned on on both phones and S Beam turned off.
No bluetooth turned on.
LG is on stock ROM, rooted with Android version 4.1.2
Samsung is on a rooted, custom ROM (Honestly do not remember if it is CM10 or another custom build). Android version 4.1.1

I've had the Samsung on quite a few different ROM's and am about to take it back to stock. I believe it is CM10, but wouldn't swear to it.
