Hi Guys,

Question: I'm definitely interested in purchasing the N4 from the Play Store. I'm currently using Tmo's G2x and have 8 months left on my contract.

Can I just pull out the SIM in the G2x and start using my N4. . . until my contract is up? If so, my plan is to then go contract-free with Tmo using one of their monthly plans.

Does this sound like a good approach? What do you recommend?

Thanks for the help!

Your plan will work flawlessly.

Yes you can do that and it'll work just fine. The only configuration you'll have to do is possibly edit the APN settings on the Nexus 4. Other than that, nothing.

At the end of your contract if you decide to switch carriers or go to prepaid, you can do it at that time as well.

Oh, the only "issue" is that the Nexus 4 requires a Micro SIM, and your G2X has a Mini SIM. Either buy a SIM cutter online (about $5), or you can go ask T-Mobile if they'll either cut or provision a Micro SIM for you. Usually they'll do it for free or super cheap.

Shouldn't have to alter the APN's mine auto configured, now the SIM card, has to be cut, or have a tmo micro sim, which mine came with one in the box. (Yes, Google employee phones are on T-Mobile)

I came to the right place :) Thanks, Andrew and carolinaguy99, for your prompt replies! Looking forward to the Nexus experience!
