Nexus 4 total charging time?

Hi everyone,

I got my brand new nexus 4 about a week ago. The phone's a brilliant piece of kit but I noticed that the charging rate was pathetic. It takes anywhere from 3 and a half hours upto 4 from 0 to fully charged via the AC. USB times are even more pathetic. I ordered for a replacement and got the new one yesterday. I tried the same charging routine (fully discharge and charge to 100%) but still seem to get relatively low charging rates. As of writing this the new phone has been on charge for 1 hour and 15 minutes and is up to 52% from 0 (on the AC). Is there a problem with all nexus devices or are these the normal charging rates? Should I contact Google again? My previous device was a Dell Streak and would completely charge in 2 hours.

Dell Streak: 1530 mAh
Nexus 4: 2100 mAh

That's why it takes longer for the Nexus 4 to charge. The Nexus 4 battery is 37% larger than the Dell Streak's.

Because of the larger battery it can take as quick as 2 hrs. 45 minutes and as long as 4 hours if you drain it down all the way.

If my nexus 10 charged in 4 hours, I'd be ecstatic... My battery just got to 100%, 21 hours after I plugged it into charge. and 4 hours really isn't that long for something to charge. 21 hours, that is along time... Also, not my first charge, this is the 3rd week I've had my tablet...

Should I send my tablet back to be repaired or get a new charger?

Wow yeah something has got to be wrong with your tablet. How big is that battery? I have the Asus Transformer Pad TF300 and if I drain the battery down to below 20%, it takes a little over 2 hours to charge back to full. I'd say something is wrong with your charger. Hopefully it's not the tablet. Make sure you are using the OEM charger that came with your Nexus 10. I assume you are.
