Nexus 4 Will not charge but powers on?

[AC Question]

Ok so my Nexus 4 started acting funny last night. I plugged in the charger and the charging icon appeared then disappeared. I moved the charger usb around and it would come on and off. I know for a fact that it isnt the port because when i plug it into the computer, it can read it but it wont charge? Also my phone says it has 40% battery life but sometimes it will say it has 2% and shuts off. Without even charging it i can turn it back on and it will say 40% again. Oh and i cant turn it on regularly. I have to hold down the volume key and power button and click start to turn it on. If i try to turn it on normally, it would vibrate for a quick sec like it is going to turn on but it doesnt. If i hold on the power button, it will continue to vibrate on and off three times before being completely unresponsive. Please help

Have you tried a factory reset? Reload your ROM?

No I havent. My Nexus 4 is rooted and unlocked. If i do a factory reset, will i lose the unlock and root abilities?

Not sure if you had tried reloading the ROM? Sounds like the battery not holding charge? Which model is this?

Im not sure how to reload the rom.
its a Nexus 4 but on the screen when you hold on to the volume and power key, it says under product name and variant: Mako 16GB
