Hello all,

I got my Nexus 5 about a week ago, last monday from Carphone Warehouse (UK) sim-free and was working perfectly fine until yesterday. On saturday i did change my runtime from DALVIK to ART not sure if this has affected but basically, it failed to charge my phone. I tried different cables but would only charge for less than 10 seconds and would say 'not charging.' I also had action launcher which has a battery widget telling me the condition was overheat. When I took it back to Carphone Warehouse whilst showing the faulty battery, it caused random reboots and would shut off once I try and turn on the device. Carphone Warehouse was kind enough to replace the device for free, however, i was wondering if my faulty battery had anything to do with changing the runtime? Has anyone come across this faulty battery with Nexus 5?

who knows? but don't F with it again. you're lucky they had another one to give you.

they didn't have one in-store but i'm picking up the replacement today and hope this time it works. I'm not sure if I should change the runtime again or not, because people are not affected with the same issues as me.

as the great Remo Gaggi once said - "Look... why take a chance?"

good luck.

There is really no point in changing it yet. Until developers start utilizing it, it is basically useless and drains your battery faster.
