Nexus 5 connection problem - not recognized by a computer

I currently have a problem with my Nexus 5 device. It charges when it's connected to my computer (windows 8), but it's not recognized anymore. Since my computer recognizes other devices and my Nexus is recognized on another computer, I'm assuming it's a driver problem. I was going to update driver using Computer Management, but since the device doesn't even show up under "Portable Device" tab, I don't know what to do.

Welcome to Android Central! Did you recently do a Windows Update? They messed up the update, which caused this problem. It makes the computer think the Nexus 5 is an "Acer ADB Device."
