Nexus 5 - Suggestions for Auto Mount (Horizontal Capable)

I'm looking for a car mount that will hold my N5 horizontally...WITH the Google Bumper case on it. I want a suction one...one that comes with an adhesive disc I'll stick on my dash for the suction cup to stick to.

I want a 'solid' one, but not too bulky that the side clamps will interefere with the screen (much). I guess if it has Qi charging built in, I wouldn't mind, but it's not a must-have feature.

I bought a cheap one at Marshalls... Works great. I can even fit a nexus 7 in it.

Have you checked out the iOttie Easy Flex 2?

Pretty solid car mount. It'll fit the N5, even with a pretty hefty case on. You can use it on the windshield or dashboard (although it doesn't have an adhesive disc). The suction cup on this particular mount however, is pretty outstanding. As long as your dash isn't completely curved it stays on great. Getting great feedback on them as well. Good luck!

I got this magnetic mount and it works GREAT even with the google bumper on (didnt even have to slip the included magnet under the case).

How sturdy is the CD mount? As far as position, I can't think of a better place for a mount, especially since I never use CD's anymore. From what I've read about CD mounts though, they just aren't very sturdy (ie, they don't do a good job of holding the phone still/in place).

I've had no issues. You are able to adjust the tension on the swivel. I always have mine in portrait and dont have any problems with it falling into landscape or anything.

It is really nice to have. People weren't joking about these magnetic mounts... you wont go back to anything else.

I recently got this mount called Exomoun Touch. It really is less bulky and the suction cup is something different than other usual sticky suction cup mount. I love their docks, and have had one for my BlackBerry Z10 and my iPhone 5s. Picked this one up for my Nexus 5. Holds the phone nice and securely (even with a case, I'm using the Spigen Slim Armor), comes with a charging cable, and the suction cup is pretty solid. Also it rotates vertical/horizontal.
