I know the poor battery life of the Nexus 5 is a constant topic of discussion. I've had the Nexus 5 for a year. Its my first Android phone and it suits my needs perfectly. I see no reason to upgrade except for the battery. I've taken to carrying around an external battery and I'd rather not need to do that.

If I were to upgrade, any suggestions on a similar phone with better battery life? Or is there a decent battery case for the Nexus 5 that doesn't add a lot of bulk?

iPhone. Android phones don't have as much battery life as iPhones do. (That and iMessage are about the only points in Apple's favor.)

Otherwise - I've kept at least one fully charged spare in my pocket since microTAC days - about 25 years. These days the battery is so small and light it gets lost in my pants pocket.

I have owned pretty much every iphone...After 2 years their batteries generally wear out at the same rate Android's do. With the smaller screens they should last longer. My daughters old i5 doesn't last as long as my N5's.

and I'm not sure what relevance you carrying an extra battery in your pocket is to the OP. Its not like they can change an N5 battery on the fly. LOL (Unless your just reminiscing ;) )
