Nexus 5X Bend test.

I know this sounds REALLY STUPID, but I have a bit of anxiety of if the phone is going to break easily. So sometimes once in a few weeks or so I do a bend test, but the bend tests I do have very little force applied (it's not as much as JerryRigEverything, my hands are not shaking so I'm not applying much force, and I stop applying force once I feel in my hands that the phone is pretty stable, but it's a bit difficult to explain). So with the very little force applied, the phone is still in PERFECT condition.

The reason I do this is because I'm extremely worried if the LCD panel under the glass is gonna crack (not the crack of the glass) and show weird lines and such. So my question is, can bending the phone to a certain extent crack the IPS LCD panel? I stopped doing it around June (so basically I did it once every 2 or few weeks since Feb) and is that weakening the structure? Because as I said, phone is working perfectly. Build seems sturdy still.

Another thing is when I do the small bend tests, the ripple effect (when you put pressure on the LCD screen) doesn't occur at all, and that's because I'm not putting a lot of pressure because AFAIK it takes a bit of pressure to do the effect than some older phones, so it may have some good protection. So if the ripple effect hardly happens due to not putting enough pressure then screen is still perfect right?

Another thing why I have this anxiety is because of these "hairline cracks" that happens with Samsung Galaxy AMOLED phones. And this worry actually started when I had one of those Galaxy AMOLED phones and the internal display cracked during charging. So are AMOLED displays more sensitive compared to IPS LCD when it comes to pressure, heat and stuff?

I would REALLY REALLY appreciate it if you could take the time to answer these questions I have. I know they are very stupid questions, but I would like to calm down my worry. As I said before, phone is in perfect condition, so I don't think anything happened. But I don't want to have a worry that it may just break itself in the future.

I've never tried anything like this on any of my devices, the 5X included, and none of them have bent.

I don't really worry about it. I don't wear tight jeans with my cell phone in a hip pocket with no protection. I am amazed at how many people do. I'm also amazed at how many people sit on their cell phone and crack the screen. My phone lives in a hard holster and there is no way it can get bent, at all.

I'm also amazed at how many people I know who have dropped their phone into a toilet.

You're not bending hard enough. Apply more force....that will do it.

If you worry about your phone breaking, why would you TRY to break it?

One more question. My Nexus developed a stuck pixel line a few days after I got it. I doubt it's related to the bend test but after a few weeks it fixed itself permanently. Is that a sign of hardware failure and that the screen will be much worse in the future?

Unless you were having stuck pixel lines before you started performing "bend tests" on your phone it's next to impossible for anyone to tell whether your screen is malfunctioning or whether you have broken it. Stuck pixel lines are not normal.

I'm baffled anyone would do any sort of stress test on a phone they are worried about breaking...its like saying "I'm worried about the strength of the aluminum my car is made out of, so I hit it with a hammer every day in the same spot to make sure it doesn't dent"

?? Wut

You're concerned that bending might cause your screen to malfunction, crack, so you bend your phone and when the screen malfunctions you're sure your bending of the phone had nothing to do with the problem.

Sorry, but that's crazy. Do you drop it in a bucket of water to see if it will be damaged by water, too?
