Nexus 5X - No (automatic) updates in Play Store

I have a new Nexus 5X 32GB.
After updating Android from 6.0 to 6.0.1 and installing the monthly security patches (from dec '15 to ... current patch level is April2, 2016) I signed in to Play Store (with a new google ID I just created for this purpose).
There I saw the My Apps list (both INSTALLED and ALL) are almost empty.
For example Maps and Chrome are missing, even if they are (pre)installed.
Also there is no "Update All" button, even if there are a lot of not up-to-date apps installed. For example the mentioned Chrome is installed version 44, while the store has v49; Maps is at 9.13 while on store it is 9.23.1

Any idea what is wrong?
They don't update automatically either.

The only way I see is to list all apps on Store and scroll until I encounter an installed app and then open its page and tap "Update" there.

Screenshots of My Apps pages here:
INSTALLED page
ALL page (below "Google Sheets" there are 3 more: Google Docs, Google News&Weather and Google+)

Basically it is in factory default mode/settings with some very basic changes in settings (I also installed two apps and then removed one - the one left is "Ampere", that can be seen in the screenshot)

Regards,
David

I solved the problem by clearing data & cache for the "Google Play services" and " Google Play Store" apps.
(that is in Settings / Apps ... tap the app and then Storage...)
