Nexus 5x poor sound output?

I've noticed my 5x ( since release date) has had a very quiet output (i.e., auxillary and earbuds) at maximum volume. Through Google music, the music is very soft (it goes from really loud output at the start of a playlist, to a quiet beat). Does anyone else notice this poor sound output? And is there a way to fix it?

On a side note* I drive an 08 SI and have to crank the volume up to 25-30 to barely listen to lyrics of a song. My fiancée's iPhone 5s only needed to be at about a 10-15. It's very aggravating. I also use Bose earbud headphones. 😤😤😢

I don't think I would agree with a lower quality output, just a lower max volume. As for changing this; perhaps root with Xposed framework and Gravitybox installed?

Yes, the quality is good, just a lower max volume. It's annoying, but not bad. I would like it to be louder tho, because I can barely listen to music in my car and sometimes at the gym, when the gym music is drowning out my nexus 5x. I'm not familiar with rooting..😩

Rooting a Nexus is pretty easy. You need to unlock the bootloader (this will wipe all data), install a custom recovery like TWRP, use TWRP to install a superuser .zip file, and you're done.
