Nexus 6 recovery

Hi guys. Today I flashed stock recovery using Nexus root toolkit. I wanted to receive a system update. After trying to installing update, I got the android with 'error' code. Any suggestions?
Do I need to lock the bootloader?

Unless I'm mistaken, don't you have to be stock to get system updates? I'm no expert - others will know better than me.

Not according to root checker. I used the toolkit for that also.

As far as I know for you to be able to get ota software updates to download and install you'll need to be on stock with the boot loader locked.
