nexus 6 to wifi dongle

trying to mirror my nexus 6 display onto a tv using a wifi dongle. I can connect to the dongle using wifi direct it picks up as a peer device, it connects ad then drops. no loss of signal but not sure what I'm missing

Have the same issue with the Wi-Fi adapter for my DSLR camera constantly drops connection but the wife's HTC one m7 and my galaxy note 4 both connect right away and stay connected, thinking it's an issue with the nexus 6 and Wi-Fi possibly. Wish I had a solution for you (and me).
