nexus 6 WIFI problems

I am having the same issue on Nexus 6 MDM9625 before and after Android 5.1.1 and turning on and off Airplane mode does not seem to work but rebooting does. I am beginning to suspect that it is not a software problem but rather a hardware problem.

The airplane mode solution has worked well for me. It is still irritating, but beats having to reboot. I have only just recently started having a problem. I can't be 100% sure, but I think it may have started after I did some sort of update on my Verizon Nexus 6. I'm not all that techie, so I don't really pay attention to things like that. Definitely started after a trip I took to Dallas. So I will just blame Texas. :p

Personally I have had my Nexus 6 since May of this year, and I haven't had any problems connecting to WiFi.

The problems I have experienced...

1. Receiving Phone Calls while connected to WiFi and with my phone in LTE mode.

2. My phone, at times, hanging on to 3G and not wanting to 4G LTE when it is available.

For your problem, the only workaround that I can think of that might work would be to toggle Airplane Mode on your phone when you are in the presence of a known WiFi.

Yep toggling Airplane mode does the trick. At least this (first) time.

Could it be that the new router you purchased uses the newer 802.11ac Wi-Fi standard which the Nexus 6 works better with than the previous 802.11n standard?

I also have an older Wi-Fi router that uses the 802.11n standard and I suspect if I replace it, that might fix my Nexus 6 reception issues.
(sorry new on here and I don't know how to delete this!)

I had major issues with Wifi when I had the Asus RT-N66U on my Nexus 6 where it would show down and cause buffering when streaming music. All other devices parents Nexus 5's and my Nexus 7 (2013) had no issues. I went though much hassle for months finally just replacing the router with the Netgear Nighthawk R7000 and now my Wifi works great on my Nexus 6.

Anyone else missing calls on Marshmallow with T-Mobile WiFi Calling Preferred turned on?

I've run into this before on earlier builds. Call comes in. Phone doesn't ring. Caller gets sent directly to voice mail. Phone App X silently pushes a missed call notification which you find long after the fact (or after somebody barks at you for blocking their calls).

Is there an honest-to-god fix for this? I've seen people claim that a factory reset fixes the problem but only temporarily.
