Hello All,

You'll have to forgive me for my lack of knowledge but I am trying to grasp the idea of the 700 MHz spectrum and how it will effect the Nexus 6P.

I have noticed that my device has poorer reception inside houses and buildings and takes awhile for messages and data to push anything through. So I'm wondering if this has to do with the radio or maybe the device isn't connected to the 700 MHz frequency yet. I've read that the phone has the ability but Google has yet to update the software enabling the phone to take advantage of this stronger network band.

Am I on the right page here or am I missing something?. My Note 5 would should LTE + plus of the time in my city, and wouldn't have many issues with pushing information to me while in these same spots I'm having the slight issues with the 6P.

Anyone else experiencing this?

I'm on 6.0.1 and I've seen it switch to band 12, so the support is there. Did they roll out band 12 in your area? There are still areas that haven't been updated.

how do you know your Nexus made the switch, is it a 6P? Can you send me a screen shot of what it looks like?

you need to tell us what carrier you are on and what area you are at? if you are on tmobile, band 12 700mnz might not have rolled out in your area yet.

try download signal check app in the play store to see what band you are connected to while inside a building.

Canada and my carrier is TELUS

Ah.... yeah, seeing as you aren't on T-Mobile, I am not sure how that is handled. The support is there, internally. But if Telus does use band 12 (which I think they do), Telus will have to certify and approve the 6P for band 12 before it gets enabled on your phone.

You should probably contact Telus and ask them about the status.

yeah, you just need to check with telus and see if they have band 12 supported in your area. you really can't based on what we get here since we have tmo band 12 in the US. it's like comparing apple and orange. download signal check app and you can see what band you are currently on.

Wifi calling gets you texts and calls over wifi and bypasses your network altogether. It's a great solution for poor building penetration.

Sorry I wasn't clear. I know what it allows but since I haven't seen TELUS advertise WiFi calling I'm assuming they do not have it. I'm pretty sure we have a crappy network in Canada compared to the US.
