Nexus 6P Build Quality - Rear Glass Visor Gap

That's light hitting the glass. If it was a gap there'd be a depth difference, and there isn't.
 
If it's light reflecting off the glass, then there would have to be some sort of protrusion on the aluminum "lip".
Or could it be that the glass visor isn't made to tolerance...
 
Looks to me like a combination of chambered edges around the glass and also a metal lip to stop it from scratches.

I agree. The only way to avoid that would be for both the glass and casing to have sharp corners and be an exact fit, and even then mass produced products are never 100% without issues unless they have someone working to resolve that on each phone.
