I was looking at the camera bump on the back and noticed a tiny chip on the metal around the camera and I know it wasn't caused by me. It's really small and but now it bothers me since I know it's there. Wondering if anyone else has seen something like this. I really want to contact Google about it but it's so tiny that I almost feel bad about it.IMG_0004.jpgIMG_0003.jpg

Judging by what I see in your pictures, that would bother me. You should be 100% satisfied with the build quality of your purchase, and if it were me I wouldn't hesitate to request an exchange.

That wouldn't bother me though. and heck I don't know if I would of even noticed it...... I had to take my Nexus 6p out and look at it and then I compared my phone to that picture and you have to have that magnified by what 20 or more? I wouldn't even call that a chip.... I can barely see it magnified/enlarged so much.... To the naked eye I don't think I'd even of noticed that unless I was running the entire device under a magnifying glass super slow....

However I do agree you should be 100% satisfied with your purchased. If you are spending $500 - 700 on a new phone if it's not 100% to what you expected for your money then you should return it for a refund or replacement.

I recently had Apple iPhone 6s exchange for a similar chip. They looked at it under a loupe and saw it was a manufacturers defect. Exchange it there and then. Gotta love the service.

Mine has two chips located on the plastic material that surrounds the glass screen. Lower left corner, Google is sending me a new one.

Would that involve return to China and wait for replacement? If so and it were me I would only return it if you plan to sell when done. That would reduce value. Otherwise I always use a case so would never notice it. Ultimately it only matters how you feel about it.

You are the consumer. As such, Google (or whatever seller) s/b the one feeling bad if you are not completely satisfied after forking over your $$.

OK, big picture, they probably don't give a crap, nevertheless, you are fully entitled to request and receive a replacement. If anything, they should kick in more store credits for your trouble, but they probably won't, cuz we're just a bunch of sheep to them, and annoying ones at that for troubling them with an RMA.

Anyway, just do it.

Mine has a chip on the back and some discoloration on the graphite model. How do I request an exchange?

Yeah, I plan on selling it in a year or two and decided to get a replacement for that reason.

I was just looking at the back and light shined a little weird of the chipped edge and that's why I noticed, probably wouldn't have otherwise.

So I noticed some little spots I thought were chips but it was some sort of glue that I was able to rub off, just an FYI -- others obviously have chips but before a chipgate starts figured I'd share my experience.

I think the graphite will show wear much more than the aluminum model, that was one reason I got the aluminum ... I've never liked matte finished dark color phones for this reason.

This nicks and dings are very strange since huawei are known for amazing built quality, and i am used to buy huawei phones and never had a new phone with a ding in the frame or the structure of the phone, really you should be dissapointed.
İs the quality control of huawei phones differ than that of the google phones?

Get it replaced. Google has an excellent warranty. My 8-month old Nexus 6 had a problem (speaker crackle) and Google sent me a brand new N6. Then I needed to return my old N6. Your credit card will be charged for two devices. They credit your account once they receive the old phone. Free shipping.

Is there a human to talk to? What is their phone number?

And when I do that is there a number I can call and speak to a human? if so does anybody know the number? Do they help you or just say to leave your number and they call you back?

I don't think I would have noticed....... after seeing the picture I pulled mine out and went over it with a fine tooth comb and I didn't find anything on mine.. But I also have the graphite and it's a lot harder to notice something like that. Mine looks pretty darn clean. I wouldn't return mine for that small of a blemish but again as I said I do believe you have every right to want a replacement and should be 100% happy with your purchase....

It won't take long before my 6p has a ding, nick or scratch of my own doing. :D :'(
