Nexus 6P hotspot timeout

My 6P constantly times out when I'm tethering. Doesn't matter if I'm using it or not. Can someone tell me how to stop that? Thank!

Can you provide more information:
How often is 'constantly' - once a minute; once every five minutes; etc?

How do you know it's timing out - are you receiving an error message? A screenshot of the error would be helpful.

What OS build are you on?

Do you have a solid cellular data signal?

I'm on nougat. My internet connection is great. The issue does not show am error code because it isn't an error. The hotspot just shuts off, even in safe mode. So my assumption is there is a setting somewhere to shut off the timeout.

Seems to be 15-30 minutes. Even during use.
