Nexus 6P - Sad face

I just got my first Nexus Device yesterday (Nexus 6P) and I love it! So why the sad face?

Cause it slipped out of my pocket and dropped on the concrete today. The result is only a few visible scratches on the back, with the front screen still in tact. The sting and pain of my phone hitting the ground is still fresh though, so I just wanted to vent... (sorry).

The phone is a beast though and I love the fact that I got an update from Google right when I opened the box. No more waiting for manufacturers and carriers to get an update to me.

Case is scheduled to be delivered in a few days. Luckily for me, I did buy Nexus Protect because it looks like it'll be worth it for me to have it.

I'm sorry you dropped it but glad to hear it is (mostly) okay. If nothing else, think of the phone now being uniquely yours -- not like any one else's 6P.

The 6P is solid. I dropped mine from about 3ft (with TPU case). It a made a heavy "thunk" but no damage. There's a 6P iPhone drop test on YouTube. The 6P holds up well. The visor glass is the first to go.

Probably a good idea that you're getting a case. I've noticed my 6P has almost slipped out of my hands from time to time. Still getting used to the size of it.

It always hurts, I thought I could live without a case. My LG G4 took a beating, I dropped it 4-5 times which is strange because I rarely drop my toys.

Thank God for Spigen cases, love the premium build and design, best of all great price!

This won't help you now, but for future phones I would try ordering the case a week or more before you order the phone. To avoid what happened to you, I actually ordered 2 cases. One was a cheap $7 case with a fast delivery and it showed up 2 days before the phone. The other case arrived about a week after the phone.

This won't help you now, but for future phones I would try ordering the case a week or more before you order the phone. To avoid what happened to you, I actually ordered 2 cases. The couple of times the phone showed up before the case, I just used my old phone until the case arrived. I take NO chances. But humans being the way they are, they must play then pay for their impatience.

If you consider a few visible scratches on the back OK. Me? I would have to buy a new back or lose sleep at night. It would bother me as much as bugs crawling on my scalp. I'm very OCD with my electronic stuff. A very small scratch that no one but me would see is unacceptable.

**Update**

I called Google yesterday because I was trying to get $50 in credit for the google play store after finding out that the 6P is now being discounted. The rep couldn't get me credit, but instead I could return my device and order a new 6P for the discounted price along with the free over night shipping. I mentioned to him that the device is scratched and he said that as long as the screen isn't severely broken, that minimal scratches are okay for return.

I went ahead with my order and am now waiting for my new Nexus 6P so I can return the one that is scratched! Great customer service Google! Made my holidays!

Odd.. I chatted with one this morning and they refunded me the $50 without any fuss.
