I recently purchased a Nexus 7 2nd gen demo model for $20 from a closing RadioShack. Upon booting it up the usage is limited to short slideshows demonstrating a small amount of basic features on the device. Holding volume up with the power button loads a screen saying "No command." When I hold the volume down button and power while turning it on it brings me to a screen with four options: Start, Restart bootloader, Recovery mode (which brings up the "No command" screen) and Power off.
Also, during the power + volume down screen the following text is displayed:
FASTBOOT MODE
PRODUCT NAME - flo
VARIANT - flo 16G
HW VERSION - rev_e
BOOTLOADER VERSION - FLO-3.14
CARRIER INFO - None
SERIAL NUMBER 0a216811
SIGNING - yes
SECURE BOOT - enable
LOCK STATE - locked
So my question at this point is does anyone know a way to just flash the device with a fully functional version of android? I'm thinking about just parting it out, but any ideas would be extremely appreciated. Running Windows 8.1. Thanks!!
