Nexus 7 bluetooth finds mouse but will not pair

Nexus 7 2012 model with latest update 4.4.4 (kit-kat?)

Anyone with an idea why my Nexus 7 that has a Bluetooth "B-tube speaker" successfully connected, will find but not pair with with a Logitec Bluetooth mouse. I have found out that the Nexus 7 wireless signal sometimes affects the connection so I have tried with the Nexus wireless button turned both on and off but still get the same negative result.
This mouse works OK with a NC10 Netbook
