I have bout myself a Nexus 7 as I thought it was amazing for it's price. Knowing it was made by Google and Asus, it would be awesome. When I received my first device, the left screen was totally raised. It effected the left side of the screen. So, I returned it. As it was a total waste of my time, I just wanted a non-defective one. As I ignored it for a long time, I decided to return. ALL my saved data for apps and all my progress was gone. I accepted the fact of that and I went and returned. It took well over week, but I thought it was worth it. When I got my new device, I was really joyed. I noticed the left screen was raised a little. I ignored it. I picked it up after a week after noticing a loud creaking sound. So, what should I do? I know I don't want to lose progress and data of my current device. But, I am ticked at the fact both my returned products are defective.

Are any of your devices defective?

Yes, I have a defect as well, my screen is slitely lifted. If I barely touch in the general area it lets out loud creek. I can feel the entire left side of my screen move up and down because of this rased screen issue. I did not pay for this. I am tempted to demand a refund, But Now why bother... The majority of nexus 7 devices are defected. Frustrating. but I guess it's worth it for such a great device at 250 dollars. In fact I am writing this with my nexus 7.

I have no screen lifting issues but at low light my screen flickers. Rang the store and the are sending me a replacement. I heard some people have had multiple replacement's due to hardware defects.
