Nexus 7 Trouble

I got my nexus 7 around April of last year and everything was fine up until around Oct or Nov while using Airdroid to add a movie something weird happen after i added a movie even though ive been adding and removing music and movies since i had it but my personal movies in the play movies and tv had disappeared all that was there was the option to refresh. The only way i could watch a movie was to open 1 of my media players on it and open it in there but when i did the sound was extremely low and had to use my headphone cord to get the sound back to normal. After that the tablet was just super slow and laggy and clicking on an app could take up to or over 1 minute just to load up right. Even with the 5.0 and later updates its still just as laggy and slow but a week ago i finally got around to calling Asus and told them what happen i got a case number and everything was told my warranty had expired but i could do a RMS request but when i did it kept telling me the serial number was invalid. I have no clue what else to do or how to fix whatever is wrong with my nexus any advice

I too have no clue how to reclaim my N7 running 5.0.2 which crashed when opening an updated news app for my Local TV station (King5news) while on vacation in Mexico. Won't boot, not recognized when plugged into my PC (Win7/32).
Who you gonna turn to for support on a 2 yo tablet?

I did what i was told on the phone i tried looking it up before and no 1 had the samething happen so i did a full reboot twice and nothing has changed even airdroid isnt doing right without that RMS request dont think ill ever know whats wrong with it. My computer wouldnt even reconize it the first time i hooked it up from usb
