Nexus 7 very slow on certain wireless connections

My nexus 7 is unusable almost at home on Buffalo 2.4/5Ghz wireless, but OK on most others. All my other android devices, phone, tablet, and pc, games, etc. are fine otherwise. Just the nexus suffers.

It can take 20 seconds or so for a google reader feed to show, but at the office on the same device, just 2-3 seconds. Both show connected at 64Mb, WPA2 PSK. Youtube is just unusable, but not too bad elsewhere. The wireless at home is super fast on all other devices I have (quite a few!).

I have done some searching. A lot of performance issues with this device perhaps?

I have disabled 'currents'. That certainly helps, but nowhere near enough. My tf101 is lightening fast compared to this brand new nexus. The lags are mostly all where then apps are accessing wireless I think. The in between bits where it's processing are OK.

Does anyone know of any solutions (bar changing my wireless) ?

When I had problems like that with my galaxy nexus and nexus 7, I had to change my router settings to a different channel and to wifi-G before I had any improvement.
