Nexus 7 Video Playback issues

Hi all

I recently got hold of a Nexus 7 and since the 5.1.1 update I have not been able to play any video files on the device. After some research its obviously a common problem. Aside from flashing back to KitKat was a fix discovered?

Video does not work in youtube, snapchat, instagram, facebook, twitter or google play movies.

It tends to pixelate then crash the app

Curiously youtube works fine in the chrome browser

I have tried nuplayer and awesome player in developer options and have tried clearing the cache on boot up as well

Any other suggestions?

Have you performed factory reset? If you did, and the problem still exists, try relashing the factory image to the device. The factory image, along with flash instructions, is available here: https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images?hl=en
