For whatever reason, using the official Google Launcher, when I set a background in one orientation, the other gets cropped off. This seems to happen no matter what, even using the stock wallpapers?though the degree to which it gets cut off (which appears to be that it's scaling incorrectly, rather than actually cropping the wallpaper) varies.

I've searched for answers to this (don't like taking the time to post when there's probably already someone with the same question) but it's possibly my Google keyword search skills are failing me on this one. In any case, as always, any help would be highly appreciated.

Same here. I think it started after a recent update to the launcher. For some reason, only the stock purple mountain photo doesn't give me that issue. Strange that I haven't seen more complaints about it.

I think 4.4.3 is supposed to fix this issue.

Use QuickPic and change your wallpaper using that app.
