Nexus 9 consistently dies when battery is under 35%

Any time my battery is under 35% and I play simple games (Candy Crush, Angry Birds Pop, etc) for more than a couple minutes my Nexus 9 will lock up on a bright white screen while making a loud piercing noise. The only thing I can do is to hold the power button to reboot it.

After it reboots it appears to be fine ... Until I try playing a game again and then it happens again.

It has also happened a couple times while not playing games. Once while browsing, once while the tablet was just sitting beside me. So it is not Only while playing games but it is Every time I play games.

If the battery is over 40% it will never happen. If it is charging it will never happen.

So I just wiped my tablet, did Not restore from a backup, and then Only installed Candy Crush Soda Saga. I then played CC until my battery got to 35% and it did it again. So it definitely appears to be hardware (or OS) related.

I have had my tablet for 1 year and 3 days, so I missed my warrantee by 3 days.

Any ideas on anything I can try? Or do I basically have to make sure my tablet is always over 40% or plugged in?

Sorry about your issue. If you bought from Google, I'd try for warranty service, anyway. Try several times as different agents may respond differently. If you purchased with a cc, you may have another year warranty. Aside from that, and google will probably tell you this, do a complete factory reset. It probably won't help. Good luck.

I didn't buy from Google. I got it from Best Buy.

I did do a complete factory reset, that's what I meant by "I just wiped my tablet, did Not restore from a backup", so ya that won't help.

Any other thoughts or ideas?

This kind of problem usually means the battery is faulty. One of the cells went in my laptop recently and that kept shutting down early.

Get a replacement or repair.

Not saying you are wrong but the battery still lasts just as long as ever and its not "shutting down early" it is making an extremely loud high pitched noise and displaying a very bright white screen (kind of the exact opposite of shutting down).

Also based on a couple quick searches online this appears to be a not uncommon issue for the Nexus 9. The other people seem to think it is a faulty main processor.
