Just picked up a N6 to use on Project Fi. Just wondered what I need to install to edit pictures? On my GS6e I installed a editor app from Samsung that was a direct plug in for the OEM gallery. Is there anything like that for the factory Camera or that will work with Google Photos?

Snapseed has worked well for me since I got the N6 4 months ago

Also, I hate that there is no Gallery for pics stored in phone. I don't cloud store all my photos with Google Photos....
That said, what is a better way to set a N6 up with a gallery.

Well, the idea with a Nexus device is that you don't get a whole lot of 3rd party apps forced upon you, and you get to choose a different/new app of your choice, if the built-in apps don't suffice.

Google's "Photos" app will show you your photos on the phone - just as it can show you your photos on the cloud. You can disable auto-upload if you choose to. The photos app has some basic photo editing built in as well. For my use, I've found this basic editing to be sufficient, but there are 3rd party apps that offer a whole lot more features of course.

Bad thing about Google Photos, if in a area or in a building with no service, I can't get my cloud pics. I want important pics in my phone so I need a gallery

No, it's not the bad thing about Google Photos, because it's not true. Your photos are in the camera folder under Device Folders in Photos. Any pictures you take are always on your phone unless you remove them.

Any photos you take using your phone are stored on your phone, till you delete them out. If you launch photos app, go to menu, and select "Device folders" - and there, you can see (only) the photos that are available on your phone. And you can view them/edit them.

Just too many steps compared to other phones
If one extra tap is too many steps, just download a different gallery app of your choice!
