What do you guys think, should a person grab a Nexus or wait for the SG3 which should be released soon? I don't like not having a memory slot and the 5mp camera, hmmm.:-\

That is a decision only you can make. No matter what you buy, no matter when you buy it, something better will be coming out soon thereafter. I went ahead and bought a Nexus 2 weeks ago. The form factor is a huge improvement over the Thunderbolt brick I was carrying, so to me it was worth it. But I have never filled the memory of a phone and only take simple pictures for emailing to friends, so the things you mention are not a big deal to me. The next set of phone will likely have quad core, but I don't care about that either as dual has more than enough power for anything I'm doing. My gut tells me the next BIG advance will be VoLTE and that is still roughly a year from now, so I didn't want to wait for that and just accept that when it arrives roughly half way into my two year contract, I might just have to pay full freight for that upgrade.

Agreed. Was only wondering because of the timeline of the SG3. Maybe I should just see if anything is announced next month.;)

If the Galaxy Nexus was available for Sprint today I would go out and buy it. Whether or not something better will come out by the time it finally does though is the question.

Agree on the VoLTE plus by then (say 1/2013) the VZ LTE network should be pretty much built out, 2nd/3rd gen LTE should have better Battery life and Mid-Tier Phones should have qHD displays and dual core with decent battery life. VoLTE will be interesting because then everything is data - how is VZ gonna charge us for that. Right now, you pay for a certain # of voice minutes (for most very few anymore) and a certain amount of data (although VOIP is usually pretty lite on the data side). Be interesting to see. VoLTE is also supposed to have great voice quality vs CDMA or GSM. I'm doing just fine on my 3G Dinc 2 and looking at Thanksgiving/XMas for a great deal on a new phone.

Definitely getting the GNex on Sprint, then add a line to get the SGS3......I can't wait.

Nexus is really one of the great thing to have. they really have some of the best app out there. And if u waste much time for its waiting than may b there will another model lunch in the market and you will again get confuse. So why wait ??

I am missing something when people say they would add a line to get another phone. How would that work? Wouldn't you pay for that line each month in addition and have a different phone number for it? How is that a good thing? Is it just to not use it, but then switch phones on your regular line? Sorry, this topic never quite makes sense to me.

Well if a memory card and a 5mp camera is the only issue, there are a few other sets that are offering even 8 mp camera and their rates are far lower than SG3. This is what we call snobery. A snob is a person who tries to get a certain behavior just to get other's attention. Sometimes this "certain behavior" may come out as an obsession for high cost dresses and sometimes the person may try to act like an intellectual. To cut the story shorrt, a snob tries to get attention in very stupid ways. Right now, even an ordinary phone will give you an excellent camera with memory card and so many other features. Why are you throwing your money just to follow a media hype.

1st phone (GNex) would go to my go to my wife, or son when the SGS3 comes out. I'm not THAT important to where I need to have two phones to myself, and with that being said, I don't have hundreds of people that I call or that call me, so having a new number is no problem for me.

You can originally sign up for an individual plan and add a line later on for probably $9.99 monthly fee added to my normal service plan plus the cost of the new phone you are getting.

Ok, so the number change wouldn't worry you, but an extra $10 per month plus the phone cost adds up pretty quickly, no? That is basically paying full price for the phone over the term. I'm just surprised that seems like a good idea to some people.

Nexus I believe. Shoot....I would have jumped on a nexus asap if it were on TMO. Forget about anything else. I would forgo quad core, octo core, and everything else in between if I were able to get one for TMO.

It is an extra $10 + an extra $30 for the 4G data plan, so it is $40 per month.

My guess is his wife or son currently have dumbphones then it would make more sense.
