I've plugged in external speakers into my nexus one headphone jack. This works except that if the wire gets jiggled, the current track playing restarts back to the beginning. I've checked that the plug is in securely.

Anyone else experience this?

No but I'm sure that is has something to do with the jack itself possibly. The headphones that come with the Nexus allow you to change tracks, etc... I'm assuming by you jiggling the jack you are triggering something to get that behavior. Just my guess.

That would be my guess also. Is the phone supposed to support use of normal stereo headphone/speakers?

I assume so yes. Not sure it would support any external speaker 100%. I know you can hook it up to external speakers via the dock.

are you using nemo player? I have problems with some speakers and my N1 when using nemo but not if i am using the native media player

I thought I'd post an update.

It turns out that the problem is isolated to specific speakers that I have. If I use other speakers or even if I plug in an audio extension cable to the "problem" speakers, the problem I was seeing goes away.

When look at the speaker connector, I can't tell the difference between it and the ones that work. These are powered speakers - maybe the speakers put a low voltage out on the speaker connector wire.

Strange.
