No issues for me. There was a workup on the accuracy of the multitouch for gaming purposes which supposedly is less accurate than some other phones, but nothing I've noticed real world. It works great on everything I've used it for.

Better firmware may make it more accurate for even better performance later, but for now I don't think you'd have much to complain about if anything.

No multi-touch issues here, performs outstanding. This is just iphone users sabotage. I couldn't be happier. I have an ipod touch and the nexus one performs better than the apple.

Thanks guys for the quick responses. I'm glad to hear it works good. I was hoping there was nothing wrong with it, I'm really excited to get it. I'm actually replacing my iPhone with it. Thanks again.

There are threads everywhere mentioning it and some good advice on how to deal if you have issues. It all centers around touches not registering how you want sometimes. No it wouldn't stop me from buying another Nexus. It's simply an awesome phone. Root it and it gets even better.

For a quick summary of what you *might* read; The jury is still out if this is user error, software or hardware related. There seems to be several scenarios all related to touchscreen issues. First off, if you have shoddy hardware (dust, bad fit), send it back and keep sending it back until they get you a good one. Whether the actual screen hardware is an issue remains to be seen. My fit and finish is perfect.

2nd, seems like screen sensitivity goes to the edges so look at how you hold the phone and see if a part of your hand is touching the screen. A case helps. Also the 4 hard buttons at the bottom, be sure to touch just above the middle and it responds well.

3rd, if all else fails, root. I did and the improvements to multitouch, bluetooth and general phone performance are well worth the effort.

Don't let the sh!t talkers scare you. It's a great device. I had all 3 iPhone versions. Don't miss them one bit.

nice overview.

which specific problems besides bt and multitouch (if there were any) were fixed when you rooted? and that would mean those problems are just software problems and would hypothetically be fixed in the next update?

thx - there's just a lot of disinformation out there. I am only on day 1 but right away I noticed the apps load quicker, increased available memory and the phone overall is just fast. Bluetooth would freeze and buffer when streaming audio. That is totally gone with Cyanogens mod. The multitouch zoom is buttery smooth and responds as I would expect. The 4 hard buttons are still temperamental so that's why you can't lump all multitouch issues to a single cause. Oh, and it might be me, but the portrait keyboard seems to be much easier to use, the right button registers every time and keeps up with quick fingers. I typed my first email without making a single mistake.

Well I finally received my N1 and all I can say is wow. It's awesome. I got it last night and have already put it through a lot of tests. Definitely a great purchase. Can't wait to see some of the other features. Thanks everyone for your responses about the multitouch. I've tested it out and haven't had any issues at all.

Not trying to be funny, but I wonder if a lot of those saying it has multitouch issues clean their screen often.

This happened to me tonight... I kept saying on twitter that the kb was getting worse and couldn't figure out why. Deleted Smart Keyboard & Better Keyboard, and yesterday even wiped my device. After cleaning it with a micro-fiber cleaning cloth (little bit of water on one tip), I felt the improvement in typing and accuracy.
