Nexus S 4G display issue.

I just got my Nexus S 4G on Saturday and like the phone. Here is the issue. There is a line that runs from one side to the other about the level of the Google search bar. The line is there no-matter what you are doing, pictures, wallpapers, and apps are all the same issue. It doesn't rotate but it is just there. I have not dropped the phone, scratched the phone, nor has it been abused in anyway. I have a screen protector and there is nothing on it or the outside of the screen.

Has anyone had this issue? Other than getting a new phone what can be done.

Thanks

Did you notice the line before the protector went on? I ask because the cheap plastic applicator that comes with Zagg and others tend to leave indents in the soft rubbery protectors. My Thunderbolt had this issue once installed my zagg, it drove me nuts until I finally had to peel it off just to make sure it was indeed the screen protector and not a scratch on the screen. If your positive its not the protector than you need to return the device because no line should be visible.

If it's not the protector try a hard reset. An app like Pixel Fixer could help, but I have no idea how affective they are on AMOLED screens.

Most people assume apps like that are BS and while I can't confirm how useful they'll be on a phone, for hdtvs they do in fact work.obviously not an app but same basic principal I'm sure.

If it was the protector why would it be there one minute, set on the desk and then there the next, with nothing happening to it. I tried the pixel fixer and you can see the area even with it running. It stops at the display part of the screen and doesn't go to the outside frame part. It is isolated to the lighted part of the display. I think it is an internal issue with the display. It is not there when the unit is off or asleep.
Thanks for the input and keep the ideas coming.

Hmmmmmmmm

Sounds like a hardware issue. Could be a bad contact on the ribbon connector from the board to the screen. If you are looking at the back of the phone, it would be under the topmost left side access panel.

But, in all honesty, you might leave evidence of you opening it, if you try this at home, which would void the warranty. So, unless you are comfortable with micro electronics assembly, I would bring it in for an exchange. They have only been out for ten days, so you should be under the thirty day return policy.

I do component leave work but I am not going to mess with a 4 day old phone. It operates great and the system/UI is great. It seems to be a hardware issue and Best Buy will have to make it right. That is what protection plans are for.

Thanks
