Nexus Upgrade Question

Alright so I am wondering if there's any people out there that are like me and joined Sprint when the Evo came out. My question to you guys is this... am I eligible or have any of you bought the Nexus with a 1 year upgrade but signed on to a 2 year agreement? The reason I ask is this, I first signed on with Sprint due to their once a year upgrade program. That all changed as of 4/1/11, I called Sprint to ask what I was eligible for on my 1 year upgrade... the rep told me that they were offering me $75 off RETAIL price! I was like what! thats like $540-70=470 still out of pocket for the Nexus!

So I left it at that and didn't worry about it, well last night I called to get a balance, turns out I got a really helpful and informative rep, so I went ahead and asked the same question to be sure... She told me something totally different! She said you are still eligible for the one year upgrade, you just don't get the $150 off, instead you get $75, and then I said well I am aware of that, but thats off RETAIL price. She said "No thats off the $199 online pricing, plus you wouldn't get charged connection fees and free fast shipping" I was like WHAT! So i asked her to notate my account to what she just said... so do you guys have any clue to the real truth?

And yes I have gone to the Sprint website and looked, but its still kind of confusing, so i am asking you guys if any of you had a one year upgrade after 4/1/11?

BTW * I have a family plan and want to get another Nexus, the first one I got by trading a family member for my Evo.

I hate to be a Debbie downer, but I am pretty sure the phone rep you were talking to was on crack. If I read your post correctly, there is no way they are going to sell you a Nexus S for $124 (199-75) on a 1 year contract.

The Sprint Premiere 1 year upgrade still exists as long as you meet the Gold qualifications ($89.99 for individual - $169.99/month for a family plan).

I was basically in the same situation as you on Sunday. I ponied up and bought the Nexus full price at a Sprint store and sold by Evo on Craigslist. So far...no regrets, which is surprising because I usually end up with a case of buyers remorse anytime I spend more that $200 on a gadget.

LOL yeah although I am willing to sign up for the 2 year contract, so my question is would I be able to get the Nexus for my wife with a 2 year for $125? I know right! it sounds too good to be true, but thats why I told her to note my account on our conversation.

And yes I have NO regrets trading this beast for the Evo, by the way you might want to take a look at the case they have on Amazon for it, its like $6 and i LOVE it!

Here's two options...

1) If you have one of your lines, not yours that is eligible for an upgrade, go to Best Buy and tell them you want to do an alternative upgrade. They renew the other line to a new two year agreement, and throw the S on your line. That is if you own the family account. Sprint mucked up in my favor, as I activated my 5th line in December. For some reason they have shown that line eligible for an 2-year upgrade since day one. I went in to Best Buy and the rest is history...(Cost $213.99 after tax plus 18.00 to my Sprint bill, might be able to talk Sprint out of that...)

2) If you don't have all five lines full, go to best buy where they offer a new activation, keyword NEW not upgrade at $150.00 with the S. Cancel that line, and add the phone to your line.(Cost $160.49 after tax at Best Buy and $218.00 to Sprint bill ($200 early termination, and $18.00 activation))

I bought the epic when it came out. Online it told me 75 off. I saw the actual computer message when I did upgrade and got the phone for 199. It says I was eligible for a teried override. That was at sprint.

If you got your upgrade before they switched you get the 1 year still.

I ended up buying it on Craigslist for $400, not bad, now Ill sell my Evo and get some $ back.
