Nexus users

Have the Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 6, 2012 Nexus 7 and 2013 Nexus 7. Don't feel at all like a beta tester. Just lucky that there are such devices.

Android since v1.0. Linux user since 2001.

Not here. Nexus 5 and Nexus 7. Android updates tend to be smoother on Nexus devices than on heavily skinned devices, since the manufacturer has to make additional modifications to the base code to accommodate all of that skin and bloatware.

Not really actually but to some extent I will say yes because they very first time Lollipop update was received over the nexus device it posses a lot of bugs of course later on these bugs have started fixing out but still as most of the users still haven't got the Lollipop update. So, I would say we can say that Nexus users are considered as beta users, but I don't think you should care much about it as long as you are getting a chance to enjoy the latest version of Android over your device I don't think that there's much to think about being a Guinea Pig ! :D

Do nexus users consider themselves beta users for the latest and greatest android OS?

If I considered myself a beta user for being the first to receive new Android OS updates, then n a word, no. Nexus users are the first large scale recipient group of the updates, so will likely be the first to see any issues that surface that did not appear during the actual beta, but I don't consider myself any more of a beta user for that reason than I would as an iPhone, Windows, or any other OS user receiving the initial wave of an update.

I've had the original Nexus (with extended battery), Nexus 4, 5, 7 (2012 and 2013), 10 and currently Nexus 6. Beta user? No. I consider myself a "really like using a pure Google / Android OS without all the manufacturer and carrier specific software crap they all install" user. :-)
