I have searched for this issue and cannot find where anyone has brought it up except a few mentions in other posts, so I wanted to start one on this issue.
I have had my note about a month. I did a factory reset last week. Everything has been running smooth until this morning.
I use nfc tags and have been since I have had the phone without issue. This morning I was reading an article on my phone and it started making an alarm type sound. I did not have any alarms set. I checked everything and could not find where the alarm was coming from.
I did a shutdown and battery pull and restarted. As soon as my phone was on, tht annoying alarm started again. So I did the two finger pull down of the status bar and started disabling settings. When I disabled nfc the alarm stopped. I enabled again and the alarm started again.
I reinstalled my nfc app and when I turn the nfc back on the alarm started again. I tapped an nfc tag that was in the app and the alarm stopped. I had to rwstart again a few minutes ago and that ANNOYING alarm started again. Until I turned off the nfc setting.
One other thing once disabled you can mot turn nfc back on from the status bar, you have to reenable it from the settings.
