NFC help

I can't get the phone to power on my bluetooth speaker. The NFC sign is displayed in the notification shade but touching them does not power the speaker on. What am I missing? Thanks.

Thought with all the outrage about NFC I would have some answers. Guess I'm the only one that uses NFC and everyone else likes to complain.

Pretty surprised actually that of the nearly 6000 responses to the "most important feature" poll on AC only 65 or so have voted for NFC.

Does anyone have NFC working?

I too can't get mine to pair to a bluetooth speaker nor even just read an nfc tag. I'm using the tags app they have built in too. Wondering if I should get it replaced. Everything else works great.

Nevermind:

Good news, I got it working. It didn't want to work with just NFC on. I also had to turn on the "Android Beam" option too to have it work with pairing to a bluetooth speaker. It will turn on bluetooth and pair nicely automatically now. So everything is working great 100% out of the box just had to get all the settings correct.

This phone is super nice.
