So it looks like Android Pay is about to be released in the UK really soon. As I've never used before I was curious to see if NFC has to be left on constantly, or will it start up if it recognises it's being tapped against a payment terminal? Only reason I ask is I don't like the NFC icon being in the status bar all the time!

No need to leave it on. It turns on when you use Samsung Pay and turns off when you are done.

Thanks for the response, Samsung Pay isnt due to be released yet just Android Pay. Do you think it's the same case where you can leave NFC off and it starts up automatically for Android Pay?

If Samsung Pay isn't available for your Bank you won't be able to use it. NFC will work with you use Android Pay or Google Pay. Then you need to enable NFC.

I've NFC turned on always as I use tags and there's no icon in the notification bar.
